Clint Carney, Vice President

Clint Carney is an Aqua Community Relations Group Vice President. Clint has more than 20 years of public affairs experience, and has been with the Aqua (Humanability) team since 2010. He has helped deliver public involvement services to the City of San Diego Redistricting process and several of the group’s infrastructure design and construction project teams. An experienced coalition builder, Clint helps stakeholders find common ground and develop solutions with project teams. He is also an adept project manager, skilled at media relations, public affairs, and writing. Clint’s projects with the Aqua team include San Diego Redistricting, pipelines and pump station projects for the City of San Diego, conservation outreach for the San Diego County Water Authority, and construction noticing  for the Otay Water District.

Clint’s work outside of Aqua has included leadership positions at the Alliance for HOPE International, telmedx, Cook and Schmid Public Relations, Southwest Strategies, and San Diego City Council District 5. Clint holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia, and a Juris Doctorate Degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law (San Diego).

In his spare time, Clint enjoys beach time and hikes around San Diego, travel to Mexico, and playing the Gaelic sport of Irish Hurling. He is active on the boards of several community organizations in San Diego, including I Love a Clean San Diego and the Trustee Advisory Council for the San Diego Community College District. He also volunteers with Camp Hope America, where he mentors children impacted by domestic violence and childhood trauma.
